ASCE  History

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), founded in 1852, and is the oldest national professional engineering society in the United States. ASCE is dedicated to the advancement of the individual civil engineer and the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering through education. American Society of Civil Engineers Student Membership is a very important step towards developing friendships and relationships with fellow students. Membership in this society also connects students with the professional Engineer's in its society. After you join ASCE, you'll receive a monthly newspaper which helps to stay up to date with the latest advances and designs in the field. Also being a student member, you'll be able to join your fellow students in educational activities and competitions with other colleges. These friendships you develop with the professional engineer's and fellow students of this society will last the rest of your life and throughout your career.
