ASCE  Intercollegiate Regional Competitions

As a way for you to take a break from the studying and work of your classes, the University of South Alabama student chapter of ASCE gets you involved in many regional competitions throughout the year. The University of South Alabama is a part of the Southeast Region of Student Chapters/Clubs for the American Society of Civil Engineers. In these competitions we compete against other schools from the Southeast Region for advancement to the National Competition. Some of our more popular competitions are:

  • Concrete Canoe

  • Surveying Challenge

  • Steel Bridge Design

  • Concrete Cylinder Strength Test

  • Mystery Challenge

The experience gained by solving problems using engineering knowledge will help you and your fellow students design and build many of these projects. These competitions are a great introduction into the world of Civil Engineering. And most of all, this is a great way for you to meet other members of our society and to relieve tension by competing in these challenges.
